Easter Fun

We have had some Easter fun already. We have decorated eggs, been to a Easter play group, and also an Easter egg hunt. Marc loves anything to do with Easter, and it has been fun to see him so excited. Here are some pics.

Catch-up

Well not a lot is going on around the Harris home. We are so ready for Spring to come so we can go outside and play. Marc is currently in the potty-training process and is doing pretty well, considering we are two days into it! Luke is trying to walk, but mostly falls down more than he walks. He is getting close though, and pretty soon I will be chasing two little munchkins around.

Bubbles

Last night in the tub I heard Marc saying bubbles. I was worried because one time Marc wanted bubbles and emptied a whole bottle of bubble bath into the tub. I went in to check it out and there were no bubbles, so I asked where the bubbles were and he responded, "In my bum. Watch." He proceed to show me the bubbles. Matt and I were dying and he thought it was funny so he kept on doing it. I guess everyone will learn about bubbles in the bathtub sooner or later!

Marc continues to say some funny things. Today Matt went to the temple. While Marc and I were playing this was one of our conversations, "Mom, lets talk." "Ok Marc what do you want to talk about." "The temple." "Ok." "The temple is a house of God, and the temple is yummy." I don't know where he came up with that, but I guess it's true if he thinks so!

Yesterday I put him in his room for being mean to Luke and he said, "I will be patient mom." He knows what to say and tries to use it to get out of stuff. He calls me "Dear" whenever he wants something. He also has a way of tilting his head when he asks for stuff and it certainly works. It's hard to say no when he looks so cute and innocent. He is also so polite (when he wants to be). He thanks me for getting him food. He thanks me for changing his diaper. He thanks me for putting his coat on. And its not just thank you. It's "Thank you for putting my coat on me mommy." I don't know why he has picked up on this so well, but I'm not complaining and realize I need to do better at thanking others for the things they do for me.

Marc is also learning his letters. Today as we drove by Safeway I heard, "W... Mommy there was a W on that store." I can't keep up with him, he always wants to know what letter is on my shirt or in books. He is certainly growing up and we love him!

So long my friend…..

Matt’s first post: In the Harris Family we love popcorn!!! It is known as Vitamin P and really movies should not be watched without it. This bowl is older than I am and judging by the color I’m guessing it was purchased sometime in the 70’s. When I moved out to college my mom gave me this bowl and I was so grateful.  Awhile back it met its final demise. It had been scarred through the years but was always there for you in your time of need. Many batches of pancakes, waffles, Danish hotcakes and of course popcorn have met this bowl and it always comforted them before their consumption. So with this I bid my friend Adieu and wish it the best on the other side.

Hello

Hello from the freezing snowy place we call Spokane. We are wondering if Spring will ever come but until then we are keeping warm and trying to stay sane. Here is a little update on us.

Luke is growing up way to fast. He recently got 5 new teeth, loves to play with toys, and isn't a baby anymore. He now pulls himself up and wants to be standing all the time. (although he has terrible balance and just looks like he is dancing, and he only lasts a few seconds if he lets go) He gets very angry when he wants up and will chase us around to try and use our legs to climb up on. He always finds the worst places to climb up at and I am constantly rescuing him. He hasn't had too many bad falls, but I know there will be many because he has no fear or concept of what he can't do. He got his first hair cut and he looks so much older. I really thought (and hoped) he might be a calm child, but it is not to be. He is so active and I think he is going to give his older brother a run for his money.

Marc is as crazy as ever. He talks nonstop and says the funniest things. He remembers everything I say, especially the things I really don't want him to. He is starting to learn his letters, knows most of his shapes and colors, and can count with assistance to twenty. I don't know why he wants to learn all this stuff it certainly makes my job harder because I feel like I should be getting out my textbooks and quizzing him! He loves to go to music class and has started to sing. Most of his songs are just gibberish, but with a little prompting we can get him to sing a few songs.

I love my boys and I am very grateful for them. They are fun and are growing up so quickly. I love life right now, but I am excited for all that is to come!

Crazy Kids!

The other day Matt pulled out the TV guide and Marc got the old one and asked, "What's on TV Dad?" He is starting out a little early if you ask me!
Tonight I told Marc it was time for dinner and he responded, "No thank you. I am not hungry." It took me a second to realize this was my two year old speaking. For some reason Marc has really picked up on manners and always says thank you and please. Now I guess he is taking it a step further, which is great except when he uses it against me! I wish he would pick up on some other things(like potty training).

Luke is officially crawling and is in to everything. He is certainly growing up and is a fun boy. He has what toys are and likes to grab them and play with them, which causes Marc great turmoil. I constantly hear, "Luke is messing up my toys." or "Stop grabbing me Luke." I know this is just the beginning and won't be funny for long, but it's so fun to see my boys kinda playing together!
