Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween together. Marc had a great time, but slept through most of it. He was close to filling out his costume (we think it is a puppy) but he didn't quite make it. I give him about a week and he will have out grown it!!!

We went to our ward trunk or treat where Matt and Marc made the rounds. They ended up with lots of candy. Marc was actually awake for this portion of the night, however I doubt he will remember it.

After that we went with some friends and their kids around their neighborhood. We had a system that the kids would tell us what kind of candy the house was giving out and if it was good (chocolate) either Matt or I would take Marc (who was sleeping) up and get some candy. It was a good night and I think that Marc had a good first Halloween.

Abby's Baptism

We went home to Firth this weekend for Abby's baptism. It was a good day. The only problem of the whole day was that the baptismal font had a leak in it. The water had been running for over an hour and there was only about 18 inches in the font. When it was time for the baptism my dad told Abby that she had to lay down as flat as she could. She was very obedient and even pointed her toes. It's a good thing that she is so little, she was able to go completely under. It was fun to be with Abby and celebrate her special day with her.

Halloween Party

Our ward had a Halloween party tonight. It was fun. There were lots of activities and yummy treats. I think my favorite part was watching all the little kids running around. I am excited for Marc to be at that age. There were some cute costumes. Our costumes took some thought, but once people got it they thought it was pretty clever. Marc has a different costume that we will break out next week. See if you can get the cleverness of the costumes.

Here is a close up of Marc.

Ok for those of you who didn't get it:

Matt is a Welcome MATT
Katherine is a KAT
Marc is a Question MARC

So it is a little lame, but we had fun.

A rough day

Today was a little rough for Marc. I think he has a cold because he has been very fussy. He didn't sleep all afternoon, and usually takes two naps. I knew that he was tired, but I couldn't get him to go down. Well Matt got home and took him from me and they laid together on the couch. It wasn't long before they were both out. I guess Matt just has the touch.

3 weeks old

Marc is growing up so fast. He is more alert now and actually is awake for some of the day. He is starting to smile more now and we look forward to each one. He is still a good baby, but he sometimes gets a tummy ache and isn't too happy. He calms down when he is held, and I don't mind holding him, so it all works out. It has been really nice the last couple of days so we have been going on walks. Matt usually has control of the stroller, except when he wanted to try out the half pipe at the skate park. I had to hold him back so he decided he would just get a pretend baby and try it out instead. Marc seams to like riding in the stroller, except when there is a big bump. His eyes fly open, but he quickly settles back into his content little world. He is very willing to just go with the flow and we are grateful for that.

You may be wondering what the big blue thing is that Marc is laying on. It is a big blue bunny that Matt gave me for Easter. I went into the room one day where Matt was doing homework and watching Marc and he had created a bed with the bunny. Marc seamed to like it, although I wonder if his neck was a little sore afterward.

Life is going well for the rest of the family as well. Matt is doing well in school and just keeps going with all that he is doing. He got an interview with Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for PT school. It is one of his top choices so hopefully the interview goes well. He hasn't really heard anything from the other schools, but hopefully he will hear from them soon. I am also doing well, I think that I am adjusting well to being a mom. I have always dreamed of being a mom, and although it is not exactly like I dreamed, it's not a nightmare!!! I am grateful for the blessing of being a wife and a mother and hope I can fill these roles sucessfully.

Matt and Marc

Matt is so good with Marc. When Matt gets home from school he always wants to hold him. They have read many pages of Physics together, so I know Marc is going to be a genius!!! When I am doing something in the other room I can hear Matt talking to Marc and this is the most common phrase I hear, "You are so cute." Matt says he can now say the word cute because he has a baby. I love seeing Matt take care of Marc. He is such a good dad, and I know that Matt and Marc will continue to be best buds.

Growing up so fast

Marc went to the doctor yesterday. He is growing like a weed. He is now 20.25 inches and weighs 9 lbs and 9.5 oz. We are glad that he is a healthy boy and I just hope I can keep up on feeding him. Marc totally skipped the newborn size of clothes, and apparently he will be out of 0-3 months very soon. I have a fun time dressing him and am grateful for the good little boy that hhttp://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=5263056072916922826&postID=4933247024777532861e is.

2 Year Anniversary

Matt and I have been married for 2 years now. I can't believe how fast time has flown. On Tuesday Matt had to take a test and I knew that we wouldn't get to do much to celebrate. On Monday we were talking and I asked Matt what he wanted for dinner the next night. He told me that he didn't think he would be home until 8 or 9 so he would just grab something to eat on campus. Well the pregnancy hormones are still in my blood and I said, "That's okay, I'll just eat leftovers by myself" and I started to cry. Matt was quick to console me and we decided that we would go out to eat on Wednesday instead. That night when he got home he brought me flowers and ice cream. The checkout lady had asked him what he had done wrong, and he told her it was just his anniversary. We did go out to eat and we got to go alone thanks to Marianne watching Marc for us. I had a good anniversary and I am thankful for Matt and all he does for me. We have had a wonderful 2 years and I know there are many more to come.

Grandpa Schiess

We went home for Conference weekend. Grandpa Schiess and Marc had some bonding time together. I think Grandpa likes his grandson Marc and has already started spoiling him with clothes and other presents!!!

Jaundice

Marc ended up having jaundice so he was attached to the billyblanket for a few days. We also had to go to the doctors everyday so they could test his blood to see how he was doing. He was always so good, but it broke my heart to hear him cry. I don't think there was any more room on his heels to poke. Gratefully he got better very quickly (thanks to lemon water and liver rubs-thanks mom) and we were able to return to normal blankets.
