Harris Family Reunion

We had a great family reunion in Ohio this year.  Here are a ton of pictures highlighting our awesome week.

Marc loved the airplanes.  Both boys did fairly well on the plane ride, but I am glad that part of the trip is over!

Matt and I ditched our boys (thanks mom and Angela’s family) and went with most of the family to Cedar Point, which is a huge amusement park.  I was so brave and went on lots of “scary rides”.  I realized they weren’t bad at all and we had a great time.

 

Here is the whole family, minus Eric and JennyLynn, who we missed very much.  There were 34 of us which made for some fun and crazy times!

We went on a hike one of the days, Marc do you have enough in your mouth?

Everyone is ready for the un-birthday party, where we celebrate everyone’s birthday with a gift exchange.

Marc loved flying an airplane simulator on Grandpa’s computer.  He would start it up and wouldn’t last long then he would say, “I crashed” and do it again.

Matt has a picture in a pot from when he was little and every time Marc sees the picture he says he wants to get in the pot, so while we were there I made sure he got in the pot.

Most of the time Luke just wanted me to hold him and looked like this:

The last day we went to a water park and had tons of fun.  Then we went to another park and had a picnic.  It was a great day!

Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa we had so much fun.  Marc still talks about his trip to Ohio, and we have tons of memories to carry us over till the next reunion.

Luke’s Surgery

So after a year of waiting, tests and antibiotics, Luke had surgery to correctly implant his ureters into his bladder.   I got so many comments on what a good (and absolutely darling) boy Luke was through everything.  He was such a trooper and he made is so much easier than I thought it was going to be.

Here he is before the surgery and immediately after.

The first couple of days he was in a lot of pain, and it broke my heart to not be able to make things better for him.  He just wanted me to hold him and so I did.  The only problem was as soon as he would fall asleep my arms would too and I would move and wake him up.

The third day after a good nights sleep he was back to normal, which was wonderful. 

Because he was feeling so much better we had to find things to entertain him, so we went on lots of walks, which he loved.  

Here is his scar.  He still has some stints which will need to be removed in a few weeks, but the doctor said it was a good fix and everything should be fine now.  Thanks to all our family and friends who prayed for us, we felt your love and support. I am so grateful for modern medicine and all the wonderful doctors and nurses who have helped Luke get better.  I also know that we were blessed in so many ways and I truly know that prayers are answered. 

Car Shoes

First off this is the type of picture a two year old takes with a cell phone while their mom is driving, crazy kid!  When I saw this picture I had to keep it.  These shoes are a trademark of Marc these days.  He loves his Lightning McQueen shoes and gets compliments where ever we go.  I love it when we are at the playground and kids are so excited about them.  Marc is very proud of them, and I love them because he can put them on by himself.  So rain or shine, except at church, you will find Marc in these shoes!

Date with Mom

Marc and I went on a date to the mall after I shopped he got to play for awhile.  I even let him ride on the moving toys, which he was excited about until it started moving!  It was fun to see him have fun and spend time with him.

Dentist

Marc went to the dentist and did awesome.  They were so surprised he laid on the chair the whole time and opened his mouth when every time they asked him to.  He was so excited to be a big boy, and I am so proud of him!

Swimming Lessons

I had high hopes when I put Marc in swimming lessons, but I realize they were way too high!  We are going to live with Matt’s brother who has a pool so I wanted Marc to be able to get out of the pool if he needed to, but we are just going to put him in a life jacket for 8 weeks.  He was so cute and loved “ice cream scoops”, kicking, and jumping to his teacher.  He is a fun boy and we love him.
