Marc decided yesterday was the best day ever and I would have to agree. It was a great Mother’s Day gift, I got to spend the whole day with my boys!
We started the day off bright and early. I had told Marc he needed to get up early so we could be ready for the day. Guess who was up and dressed in our room at 6 am? Matt and I ran a race he did a 10k and I did a 5k. Matt won the whole thing, and I met my goal, so we both felt good about it.
Then we drove up a canyon super close to our house and hiked up to a spring. The boys did awesome, except John who desperately wanted out of the carrier so he could walk. Marc and Luke had the promise of ice cream if they walked the whole way and that kept them very motivated! It was so nice to be away from everything and just spend time together. The boys loved it so much and it was super easy. I need to remember it doesn’t take much to make them happy, usually it’s just my time focused on them.
Matt decided it would be awesome to take a picture on this log, so he transported us all out there, set the timer on the camera and booked it. He only had 10 seconds so he had to be pretty fast. It only took two tries and I was very glad to get those boys off the log!
Here are some other pictures from this week. The big story is Luke fell off the swing at the park and got a pretty good scrape on his chin. He also split his lip and got some cuts in his mouth too. I don’t know how he managed to get so much gravel and dirt in his mouth when he fell off, but it was not a pretty sight. I am glad kids are tough and get better quick, if I would have done what he did I would have check out for at least a week!

Life is good
The weather is warming up here and we have been riding bikes a lot. Marc has decided to try out a two wheeler without training wheels. He isn’t there yet, and is not so sure about it, but one day he will get it! Yesterday the boys played outside all day with some neighbor kids. It was awesome! By the end of the day they were dirty, tired, and sunburnt. It was a great day!

The Circus comes to town
A small circus came to town so Matt took the older boys while I stayed home with cranky John who is teething. It was in a small room in the civic center and there weren't any real circus animals, but the boys still had fun.

Some days I feel like I live in a circus. Luke decided to put his pretzels in his ears. Marc soon followed and they thought they were so funny!

Easter and April Fool’s Day
This year Easter was a little low key because we had only been in our house for 5 days. We went to an Easter egg hunt in a field of snow. The hunt lasted about three minutes but the boys loved it. My camera was dead so I didn’t get any pictures. I charged my camera and got a few pictures when the Easter bunny came. We went to church to our new ward on Sunday only to find it wasn’t really our ward. The boys were sick so I took them home so they didn’t spread the sickness. It wasn’t a normal Easter, but it was still nice to go to church and to remember our Savior.

Last year I made a tricky dinner for Marc on April Fool’s so he requested another one this year. It wasn’t quite as funny because they already knew my tricks, but it was still fun. We had juice (jello) green beans (laffy taffy) french fries and ketchup (pound cake and frosting) and a cupcake (meatloaf with mashed potatoes).
