Crazy Kids!

The other day Matt pulled out the TV guide and Marc got the old one and asked, "What's on TV Dad?" He is starting out a little early if you ask me!
Tonight I told Marc it was time for dinner and he responded, "No thank you. I am not hungry." It took me a second to realize this was my two year old speaking. For some reason Marc has really picked up on manners and always says thank you and please. Now I guess he is taking it a step further, which is great except when he uses it against me! I wish he would pick up on some other things(like potty training).

Luke is officially crawling and is in to everything. He is certainly growing up and is a fun boy. He has what toys are and likes to grab them and play with them, which causes Marc great turmoil. I constantly hear, "Luke is messing up my toys." or "Stop grabbing me Luke." I know this is just the beginning and won't be funny for long, but it's so fun to see my boys kinda playing together!

The Toy That is Changing Lives

We got a vacuum from my friend Melissa and it has changed Marc's life. He totes it around everywhere and since we put batteries in it (it actually sucks a little bit!) he randomly turns it on and starts to vacuum. It has also helped me be able to actually vacuum the house without having a "helper" Thanks Melissa!

Potty training failures

Well today was a rough day for potty training. He may look harmless, but I assure you he is not. We have been doing ok with a few accidents (everyday), diapers during nap time, diapers at night, diapers when we go anywhere.... Ok so we are not really to the potty training point, we are just pretending. Today convinced me that we have a long way to go. Let me back up a day. Yesterday Marc woke up from his nap and had a poopy diaper (he will not go in the toilet). So what did he do, he changed it, and he did a good job, I must say. Well today during nap time I heard him in his room and then I heard, "Someone pooped". I knew right away we were in trouble. Trouble was an understatement. There was poop everywhere, the walls, the changing table, Marc's clothes, his body, and his hair. I was not a happy mom. I am now considering duct taping his diapers on, really working hard to potty train him, or better yet shipping him to my 10 year old sister and letting her potty train him!

UP.

Poor Luke. This is what happens when you tell a two year old to help his brother. I know I should have stopped it, but I was interested to see what was going to happen. Both children survived.

Look who's moving!

This is where we were last week

This is where we are today. Luke can scoot backwards, and pushes himself up.

Say bye-bye to the baby who just stayed in one place!

What's Going on at the Harris home?

We had a great Christmas with my parents in Idaho, but are glad to be back home. Here is a quick update on us.

Matt started another quarter of school and is looking forward to being done with the classroom setting in August. Then he will do three ten-week clinical rotations. The first one will be in San Diego, and we will find out where the other two are in April. Life will get a little more interesting for those few months, but it will be an adventure!

I am busy at home with our boys, which I love most days! We decided that I needed to not work tax season this year, and I am so grateful for the extra time at home. I always have a project that I am working on, and a long list of others that I want to try. So hopefully I can get lots done with all my extra time.

Marc.... Well I am not sure what to say. We have entered a new realm with this child and I am at a loss for what to do with him. Last week we were told he was being aggressive in nursery. So we tried to work on that this week. Then yesterday I took him to the child watch at the YMCA while I worked out and he got kicked out for putting a girl in a reverse choke-hold (thanks Ryan, I am sure he learned this from you). So now I am convinced he is destined to be a juvenile delinquent. So we are trying a reward system where he gets a sticker if he doesn't choke (or push or hit or steal toys..... the list goes on and on). We will see if this works at all. I am also open to any other suggestions anyone may have. My next option is locking him up in a room until he is married, my dad threatened to do this often!

Marc has also decided that he wants to use the potty. It is a struggle because he would sit on his little potty all day if I let him, and two seconds after we put his clothes back on he wants to go again. So right now he is ruling the house with one word "potty". The other day I took him to the baby store and I was looking around and realized I didn't know where he was. I started looking for him and calling his name. I heard him yelling for me and I found him in the bathroom on the toilet. I looked for his diaper and found it in the garbage can because he had pooped in it. I couldn't believe it, but I guess this is my reality now!

Luke is a gem and such a blessing. He is so easy going and happy. He is getting so big, actually he is huge. He is wearing 12-18 month clothes at 7 months. He learned to sit up with help from his cousin Tyler, and is now moving all over the place by rolling and scooting. He has started to notice toys and it is fun to see him and Marc play together. Other than that I guess his life is boring compared to Marc's but that is ok!

Christmas

We had a great Christmas in Idaho. I am not going to write a lot, but here are some pictures.
