Progress

We had a great Labor Day weekend full of hard labor.  Matt ripped out a bunch of trees and cleaned up the yard.  I worked on the painting and we are getting closer to being done.  The boys are awesome “helpers” so the progress is limited to nights after Matt gets home, but it’s starting to come together.

The boys got a horse ride from one of our neighbors and loved it.

Marc started preschool this week and John sat up by himself for the first time.  I’d say we made a lot of progress this week.

Don’t be fooled

DSC00707

I know he looks calm in this picture, but this is a rare occurrence so I had to take a picture.  Luke is anything but calm he feels the need to jump off of everything and falls all the time.  The result of the last fall was a trip to the ER for three staples.  He fell off a chair at lunch at hit another one.  As soon as I picked him up and saw all the blood I knew it wasn’t just another bump, so I loaded everyone up to go and get it checked out.  It was during lunch so Matt was able to come and help out for a bit which I was very grateful for.  Luke was a champ and only cried a little bit.  I couldn’t watch them put the staples in, but hopefully I will get a little tougher because I know this won’t be the last trip we make to the ER.

This little guy

is six month old.  I don’t know where the time has gone.  He is growing like crazy and is getting some cute rolls.  He weighs 17 lbs 10 oz and is 28 1/2 inches long.  He can roll both ways, puts everything in his mouth,  has three teeth, and loves to jabber.  He is a great baby when he gets enough sleep and doesn’t have a tummy ache.  We love our little John.

Here are the pictures

So as promised here are pictures of our house.  DSC00595

The kitchen. We aren’t doing anything in here yet, but the sunflowers will be coming down soon!

The upstairs living room it connects to the kitchen through the doorway you can see.

This room is a continuation of the family room, and will be the toy area.

Next to the toy room is the laundry room.

And finally the downstairs bathroom.

There are also four bedrooms which look like ordinary rooms.  Matt pulled all the carpet and pad out and I am really tired of pulling staples out.  We are getting ready to paint and new carpet will go in on the 17.  There is lots to do, but I am excited to see how it all turns out.

It’s official (almost)

Well here it is….our new house!

DSC00679

We closed this week but won’t get the keys till Tuesday. We, or  should say I, have great visions for this little house, now I just have to get Matt on board!  We have started working on the yard as it needs lots of TLC.  Here are a few pictures of the yardDSC00671DSC00670DSC00674DSC00673

Yesterday we (Matt) scrapped up all the dead grass and trimmed some of the trees.  Now we are going to clean up all the dead grass, level the yard, get rid of a few more trees and hopefully get it planted this fall.  As I was sitting on the ground digging through the dirt it felt so good to be working toward a goal of cleaning up that yard, our yard.  Hard work, even though it is hard is so rewarding.  I just hope I remember this in a few months when I am sick of it!   We are excited to see the transformation that happens over the next little while, and excited to have a house of our own.

Rockin and Rollin

Life at our house is anything but calm.  The boys are growing like crazy.  I looked at Marc the other day and couldn’t believe how big he is getting.  Luke is finally starting to talk!!!  Most of it is still just yelling, but there are words mixed in so we are excited.  John is now rolling to his tummy, eating rice cereal, and has his first tooth.  I love my boys!

Family Fun

We started off our fun with Matt’s brother Chad and his family visiting from Oregon.  With a houseful of six little boys we had a great time and spent lots of time at the park.

Next we made a trek to Kansas to visit Matt’s sister Traci and her family of girls.  We had a great time swimming, going to the zoo, riding horses and lighting fireworks.  The drive was definitely worth it!

Our next stop was Minnesota to visit another of Matt’s sisters and their family.  They had an awesome 4th of July party complete with a slip and slide and zip line.  My boys absolutely loved it and Marc keeps asking when we can go back to our cousins houses.  I’m not sure I’m ready to make the drive again just yet, but it was a great vacation and we loved spending time with our family.

To top the trip off we headed to Firth to be with my family. My brother and sister are both going on missions and went through the temple.  It was so fun to be with everyone and we had a great time.
